Mold

We are a woodworking buisness but we have to make some mold for a customer. We use mdf and our customer put some polurea in it and that give him HIS mold. Mdf is not bad but I have to seal it. What most of you use ? Is there a material that would be lighter and non-porous ?

Thank you.

Epoxy from the West Company. I have found to cut the MDF under .005 coat it pretty thick, I use Aluminum powder and Graphite powder mix, while it hardening I put a second coat the MDF soaks it very much. Let it harden over night a cut to zero it creates a shell. I assume this for vacuum forming application.
