  3. Gurus, Good morning, I come in this AM after leaving puter on and file open to log into windows. There was a windows update. When I open Mcam 2021 it crashes immediately, little report window pops up, I ran the web install and repair - it will then go for a bit on starting up saying preparing for 1st time use, the when when goes to enable installed items it crashes. Lathe seat in the shop still opens, but mill seat does not. I tried to uninstall windows update but one of the 2 will not completely uninstall ... Any help is greatly appreciated. Mcam 2021 patch 1. My mait did expire 9/2020 and working to get it back on subscription ... Just an FYI
  4. Used the 4X post for ST machines ..... looks way better, in the tool parameters should I be using from machine, user defined or from tool and should I have a value in them ... Thanks again .....
  5. Just installed 2021 on a fresh puter, downloaded the TL2 ax lathe post from the website. Everything went well except tried a simple face program ... it wants to start in center and go out. I cant seem to fix this and I changed to much I think. I AM NOT A LATHE GURU , just teaching ourselves as we go ... Any help on getting the post to be be able to post and go would be appreciated. New Lathe ST20 bolt on turret ... Thanks in advance appreciate it. think went I went with wrong post off tech exchange hmmmm
  6. Will try that ..... Thanks again.
  7. Not what I was hoping to hear ... I could set up another computer but my libraries and files and everything is on this one, I gotta keep my mill running and get some lathe work moving too. Hmmmm Thanks.
  8. Have my mill hasp in, my lathe is a seperate hasp. How can I fire these up at same time on same computer. I dont have the lathe hasp in computer. Windows 10, Mastercam 2020. Thanks in advance

  10. Ron, Does it help there is a 3D model of the tool?
  11. Thanks Ron, will give this a go .......
  12. So playing with Lathe and on my way to something good I think :head scratch: , I have some tool library questions ... Way different than milling I see. I have some internal profiles almost bowl or cone shaped and got some new tooling ..... BUT no idea whats next - I am not sure where to start the process of designing these bars, how to put them in the library as they must not be standard library Iscar tooling. Bar #s A20R SVJCR - 11 A16R SVJCR - 11 INSERT # VCGT-221-AS IC20 I probably should have just searched this topic but we will see ...... Thanks in advance ...
  13. Sweet .... Thanks guys ... Still best info on the planet
  14. Ron, A switch in default in mplfan ...... is it old_new_sw (6t to 0) default was 1 Thanks Millman
  15. Good day all ....... Pulled the trigger, opened my own tool shop taking over a lease on some older equipment. I just purchased a used FADAL which I am solid with using, post config and such, but now also have an older Mori SL3 with a Fanuc T6 controller that the X is backwards from the rest of world. I am NOT a lathe guy so I will be asking many questions as I have work for this machine and is fairly complex (to me) profile so I will be seeking some help, tips and tricks ....... My seat of 30 day eval while the banking process goes kicks off today and very excited ..... Mill 3 + Lathe Anyone have experience programming Mcam with this Lathe, I would say its mid 80s just a guess but a tank and good lathe to start out with I spose ......
  16. So we have an old piece of equipment that is basically a Bridgeport with this controller on (TNC 310). The mill is a Supermax actually. I have little interest in figuring out the conversational portion of this machine, but discovered it has an ISO option. We have some small non critical 3D parts this would be perfect for but memory is not. My question is I have a great modified MPfan post I used to get what I wanted for both haas and our fadals. I am curious will either of these produce the code to run this machine in ISO and feed DNC using Blockwise option. Thanks in advance fellas .........
  17. I was pausing for commercial break. Ron good to see your still here too.
  18. Here I am ........ Thanks Tyler ..... Hows it Going Hardmill ..... Yep John thats me
  19. yeah the member number didn't port over - maybe e-mail? nevermind, found it with 'corey' - not sure why it didn't come up with mold100, but it does now - thanks Chrome. Sent you some mail Corey
  20. Lee, Thank you for this info, can you tell me what est. cost about was, you can pm or email me. I am not sure if I have to go this route because my control is "supposed" to be a B or C . Can you tell me if you had a parralle port on the side? I can upload and download just fine, but the 32,000 kb of memory is virtually nothing (it was 8,000) but a few bit switches got us up to this controls max, baud rate was set at 1200 also have it now at 9600 ..... man that is old tech but hey 1st cnc . I do not have the tape mode or a DNC button so I do not even know where or how to begin. I read some stuff about G127.5 in the Ladder but I also have no clue who what when or where about that. Going to call Tom tomorrow thanks Lee ........ Thanks, Corey
  21. Thanks fellas, yes I believe an A series, no card, no I series control Just a basic OM. It does have an rs-232 on side so not a huge issue, I am curious if a normal cable will work or if I need to make one that has jumped wires. I looked at this machine briefly thinking I would be renting machine time on it, then the guy decided to move shop and I asked if he would sell it and next thing you know ........ delivery in 2 weeks.
  22. It should work with any type of cutter ........
  23. Bottom up always, using active nuber of teeth buried in hole, never single pass I usually use 3 multi passes 1/4 and above, 4 or 5 if down to 6-32. If you thread mill pipe threads be sure to add taper of 1.78333 typical for 1/8 npt threads.
  24. So I pulled the trigger to buy my 1st machine and this is it. I seen the machine a month ago to talk about renting machine time. The shop is moving to Fl. and I made an offer to buy it so they didnt have to move it. Well they took the offer good deal I think. Anyhow, it has an OM it seems to be very well maintained. I am not sure of the year but wondering if anyone is aware how complicated it is going to be to set up drip feed with DNC. I would be really sure it is possible, I ran these with 16i before never the OM. I been away for awhile, mostly doing design stuff but if all falls into place as it about has to now ........ I am back ...... oh again LOL ....
  25. Thanks G ...... Not sure if I will ever get to do another project with them but I hope so ......
