I just had a new computer installed ,whenI loaded up x2 mr sp1 I cant change to the control def I want. I have 5 axis default loaded which I do have and do not want

The operation defaults screen always shows 5-axis. It is this way on all 9 of my classroom computers. I don't know why, but it is normal. This is not the place to change to a different machine def or control def.

 

Use "machine type" from the main menu to choose a machine. Or if a machine is already in the operations manager you can use properties/files/replace to switch to a different machine.

If you are trying to get Mastercam to default to a certain machine you can do it from settings/configuration/default machines, and settings/configuration/start-exit, startup product

To assign a new control def to a machine

Go to settings - Machine definition manager -

select the drop down arrow at the right of the

control file box - choose the control def

off of the list - now save the new

configuration by selecting the floppy disk

icon at the top of the screen

I have tried what Jdowe has said before, but I still cant edit the control config like I want. I never had this trouble before, but I always just upgrade from last update and saved my settings.
