cimco edit 5 drip feed to a fadal

Hello

 

Is it posible to do a drip feed with cimco edit 5 to a fadal 88HS control?

If so could some one guide me in the correct procedure.

 

I can do a dump into the control no problem.

This is right out of the FADAL Manual. It's been a while since I had to do it.

 

Using the DNC Command

 

1) The baud rate at the control must be set at the same rate of the computer.

(see BAUD RATE, USING THE CHANGE DEVICE (CD) COMMAND)

2) From the command mode type DNC then press the ENTER button.

3) Start the DNC software at the computer.

4) At the control press the AUTO or START button to begin execution of the

program.

5) Use the feed rate potentiometer to slow the rate of execution. The screen

should have at least two program lines showing while the program is

running. Hesitation will occur if the tool is moving fast enough to only have

one line of the program showing on the screen. (For -2 software, see also

G91.1 for high speed execution).

Note: The CNC program in the computer does not need sequence numbers,

the control will establish them. The CNC program in the computer can have

sequence numbers, however they are not needed.

also you can put DNC before the % and set the control to command. then push from the computer and the dnc will be ready to go.

 

I have two Fadal posts setup on that Has DNC at the start and the other that has TA,1. as long as the machine is in command you can push from the computer.

Well after alot of trouble shooting I found the problem.

 

we used to use predator software to dnc to the fadal. we were using dncx , which is a error checking dnc. scince we now use cimco5 , there is no xmodem avalable without an upgrade.

our control was set to run in error checking protocol. I changed in the control to no error checking and it dnc fine.

 

I set up cimco to run with two differant machine settings. one TA,11013 and dnc1013

Glad you to hear you got it working. We have so much memory in a Fadal we never have the need to DNC. Although sometimes it can take a while to send the programs into the control.
