90 Deg Angle Head

Can any body guide me on how to program 90 deg angle head in X2-MR2. I was in an impression that it can be done by using C-plane as machining plane and tool plane to the direction tool is coming from.

started out manualy changing x,y,z's in editor

but we finally purchased a new post from in house solutions to flip x,y,z's around

post may need to be modified to output correctly. Most generics will output that as an axis rotation.

We ended up getting a custom post from In-House through our mastercam supplier. We've got Fanuc controls and activated the G68 co-ordinate rotation option which is pretty cool. All the programs now can still use canned cycle and are easily readable by the cam or cnc guys.

I tested this once and was able to rob the code from a Router post and made it work. I think I just took the entire thing or maybe I just renamed the files(mmd, control and pst) as if they were mill files. This will work even if you only have a mill seat. I can't tell you too much more as it was quite a while ago. I do remember it was fairly quick and easy though.

 

I imagine a custom post would be the way to go but if you need it fast and free this is it.
