Small surface question

The following surface is very small. The bottom arc is r.010

The costumer sent a solid but I don't have the solids option in my MC seat. I created the surface with the provided wire frame from the. The surface I created seems to be "off" the geometry.

My question is, is this just a visual representation?

Go to "Shading Settings" and change the "chord height settings" to .0002 or less.

I have run into this before and literally thought it just as that ...a visual....but when cutting I would put my tolerance on my toolpath as tight as I could and never had any problems ....but I must confess that is mighty tiny.

Does the cord height settings make a difference on the toolpath g-code?

Jack, that's just one tooth of 42 on the face of a .675 dia part

No difference in the g-code, its just how accurate the shading is on the screen.

 

FYI - If you have a lot of complex surfaces you would want to change it to .002 or higher if MC starts to run slow when rotating or panning.

yes I'll do that. I dynamic-rotated and MC fell on it's face.
