I am using Mikron UME(900)Milling and Mikron(VCP600)Milling Machining Center and was wondering if there are any more Mikron user's out here ?

Been using Mikron VCP600 w/ 42k rpm spindle and Heidenhein TNC430 control for 2 years. Cutting hardened tool steel and graphite mostly. Best machine in the shop! Hope to add a Mikron HSM400 w/ pallet changer soon.

Hey Henry and Lucky thanks for replying to my query. U guys r lucky to play with 42000 rpm

I've just got a VCP 600 with 10000 rpm.But guys tell me something what about the spindle sound it must be deafening

When the machine was new you couldn't even hear it at max RPM. It's starting to whine a little above 30k. I expect to exchange the spindle out within the next year. Mikron has a spindle exchange program - $8,000 incl. spindle, install, air fare, etc.

 

I understand they now have a 60,000 RPM spindle available.........
