Rotary axis

I have a curve wrapped around a part and I want to have the endmill follow it with cuttercomp off, can I contour it from the wrapped state or do I have to project it and use axis substitution? Also, how do I set this up? I have tried rotary axis positioning, but that didn't work. I used axis substitution and that looks better but not right. What am i missing?

if you are using axis sub on wrapped geometry make sure that you check unroll in the rotary axis box
