waterjet corner cutting

Hi Does any one use Mastercam for water jet cutting, if so I am interested on how to slow down the feed rate when the head approaches the internal corners of a square so they don’t have lag over shoot ?

You could try using the high feed in the Operations Manager. It's the button that looks like a tool with holder and an arrow pointing to the right. You can play with the feeds if you select rough and finish.

i programmed a flow waterjet for 3 yrs and we only used mastercam for programming. i used the highfeed to control the corner feeds and it worked great. play around with the acc and dec rates and the distance from the corner to start slowing down and speeding up. once you find the right combo for your thickness it is sweet.

We've programmed w/j's for about 12 years and modified our post so it slowed down in corners. The prorgammer gets a question when he posts the file and it asks for the thickness of material. The corner feedrate reduction is based on material thickness. We cut up to 5" thk plate on occassion but typically stay in the 1-3" range.
