X2 HMC 4-Axis Question

I've been using 9.1 Mill for the last 6 or so years (3 and 4 axis VMC & 4 axis HMC) but I recently started at a new job and they have X2Mr2 SP1. I've done pretty well with no assistance with X2 but now I'm stumped. We just got a Mori HMC and I had no luck making machine def/control def that would give me "B" axis rotation in the posted code. All position and retracts were correct, just no "B" axis rotation.

I found the X2 generic MPMaster post and generic Machine def and control def on this site and it works, except I get am error when I try to post. I'm creating tool planes by picking solid faces on the part thru the WCS View Manager. All posted code has correct position values but all "B" axis rotations are "B90."

Error Reads:

(Window title bar)

MP

(Window Message

Error - Select Machine Achievable Toolplane with Y-Axis along Machine Y - Set and Repost

I never had any issues in V9 with 4 axis programing but I'm sure I'm missing something simple. This is probably a beginner issue but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Using mpmaster

your WCS should be Top

B0 toolplane = front

to create rotation,

make sure Front is the active toolplane

then click Planes (at the bottom of the screen)

then

Rotate planes..and..

rotate Front the desired amount ABOUT Y

and save it (and lable it)

Use that toolplane for rotation..

if you create a toolplane from a solid face.. and its 0.0001 out of parrallel with the Y axis

you'll get the error you're getting..

if you build your toolplanes by rotating the existing 6 basic planes you'll get much more releiable results
