In a word, no. The only way to access files in a folder other than the root of the Dataserver, you would 1) need a control that has Manual Guide i and 2)I believe you may also need a 30i/31i/32i control. I do not believe the 16i/18i controls suppor that function.

Sorry.

Thanks CNC Apps Guy,

I didn't see anything in the manual about it but was hoping anyway. We can manipulate folders thru the FPT and manually thru the control but the folder can only be "activated" thru the control. If an operator is on another machine setting up the other sometimes is waiting for the next directory to be opened up.

On Matsuura HMC's and 5-Axis VMC's with the 30i controls, you can assign programs from the dataserver (even if they reside in sub-folders) to pallets. It's the only machine I've seen with that capability. You can actually edit programs on the dataserver like they were in machine memory.

xxxi controls are PC based Controls. Each builder is able to configure how things the way they want with respect to file format, file extensions, etc...

To answer your question, I have no idea what the difference between the two files as those file extensions appear to be MTB specific.

Sorry.
