X4 "HANGS" on file dropdown

Just like the title says, Whenever I click the File tab MC hangs for about 10 seconds. Everything else works fine, just the file dropdown.

Make sure no file is linked in your recently opened or saved to a memory stick, closed link on a network or a computer on your network that is closed. Also if you saved the file to a Cd or disk you will see this.

I think Ron hit the nail on the head here. Also you might check any favorites you may have created in the column to the right.

 

If it's a file path problem as Ron suggested you can clear it up by going into Config, File settings and setting the File MRU value to 1. Save the Config, do a File Open and load a file. Then go back to Config and reset the MRU to 10, or whatever you use and it should clear out any paths that are causing the long search.

Hmm today I opened it up and its just fine, I was using a flash drive a few days ago but have been since using the network files. Its possible that the last file on the MRU was cleared out on my last opend/saved file.

I had the same problem.. I actually had to change my hardware acceleration from "X3" to "x4".... I wouldn't have believed it if it wasn't my own system
