  1. We have addressed the selection issue with Fillets, Chamfers, and Trimming for 2021 Update 2 which will be out for testing soon. That issue was caused by the addition of drag mode and how it could be activated too easily to select and unselect an entity unintentionally while it appeared to be selected. I have not heard of any reports of crashing from our QC group or on the Mastercam forum which i monitor regularly.
  2. X7 MU1 release date is soon, but not set in stone. We just sent out Beta 2 to Beta sites and will evaluate based on feedback we receive.
  3. That one is on us... We fixed a bigger issue for X7 where it was off by a mile (1.609344 kilometers) in some surface cases. In the process we made larger by .0001 (in both inch and metric) in every case. The good news is that you should see this addressed in X7 MU1 Beta 2
  4. I just walked down the hall to the IT guys, they tell me it's all back up and working. I tested it myself and can confirm that it's accepting data again. To test me on this look in My Documents\Customer Feedback - You may have a few Zip files in there, turn on the CFP in Help and they will disappear. F5 to refresh... (It may only happen at start-up, not sure)
  5. Guys - Sorry about that. The off-site CFP server imploded the other day and is not accepting information. I believe this is the lag you are all experiencing, i see it myself. The IT guys are scrambling to rebuild the server as we speak. For now, if you need to, go ahead and turn off the CFP. Someone here will repost when it's up and running again. Once again we are sorry for this being a PITA, someone will announce when everything is up and running again.
  6. Thank you for participating! We have collected a lot of valuable information since we first implemented it. Also wanted to mention that the crash reports you all send in are usefull too, the comments get some laughs as well. Not all of them pinpoint the problem, but we have been able to gather enough information from many of them to chase down very hard to figure out problems.
  7. Bob - While we are always trying to fix the big issues, there are times when we can address the little ones that also affect users negatively. I am assuming your crash reports are being sent into our developers so they can try and track down the problem just as quickly as possible.
  8. After spending a few minutes analyzing the CFP data (Customer Feedback Program). We realized that the Clear Color function was used over 250,000 times over a short period of time. Looking at that information further leads me to ask a few questions regarding Mastercam Defaults First let me explain Clear Colors a little better - Everytime an Xform function is completed Mastercam creates two temporary groups that can be used for selection. - The groups are called “Group” which is the source geometry used during the Xform operation, and “Result” which is what Xform produced. - By default Mastercam temporarily changes the colors of the “Group” geometry to red, and the “Results” geometry to magenta. - The only way to restore the geometry back to its “real” color is to use the Clear Colors function, which also eliminates the group names. - It is possible to change a setting in Config that eliminates the color change, thus eliminating the requirement to use Clear Colors. So given that information I have these poll questions…
  9. We recently have been able to do some analysis of the information we are getting from the Customer Feedback Program which leads me to ask some basic questions...
  10. I have a follow-up question... If we did document how to create and use Template files in X5 would anyone read it?
  11. - If i remember correctly the XLS file is used when we are going to create a new tool and the standard sizes option is on. That way we aren't creating some random size that isn't real. - Try turning off the Create as needed option on the tools page. - Tools are selected based on the heirarchy of the switches. If they all are on it first looks in the MCX, then the tool library, then create as needed.
  12. Just gathering more information... I'd like to know how often you use the Area option for Selection or Chaining, and how often you use the Vector option for selection
  13. Right now the Viewsheet tabs automatically size themselves based on the name so you can see the whole name. Sort of an Autofit. If there was a hard limit to the tab size you'd need a tooltip to see when the name was too long, and it would seem to slow people down. Is there too much spacing for a single character?
  14. Try this... - Exit Mastercam - Rename your config files (they are in the MCAMX4Config sub directory) - Restart Mastercam (This will create new config files from scratch) Let me know if that helps.
  15. Thanks for the votes, and the side-bar comments. i probably tipped my hand in the way i asked the question... This isn't something we are thinking about changing anyt time soon, it's just one of those questions that comes up from time to time and i wanted to get some input from you guys rather than speculate about it anymore.
  16. Unlike other a lot of other Windows based programs Mastercam does not require users to hold down the Control Key when making multiple selections. Do you see this as a problem?
  17. 3D Xform allows you to take entities and move them from one plane to another...
  18. Ahh, i see. I can certainly add it to the short list of enhancements. Resizable tabs... explain please.
  19. Kyle, that's a new one for me... - Do you mean you want one created anytime a view is created, or anytime you create a new Named View? - How many Viewsheets do you normally work with?

  21. He has one of those faces you trust. Mike is the guy who always gets "randomly choosen" for a strip search at the airport in the security line...
