for the life of me I cannot get this most basic wireframe to create either a good coons or net surface.

Chris,

I put a result I got with Coons up in the same folder (NET_COONS_PETE.MCX).

I broke the 4 'corner' splines at their midpoints so as to have a real 'grid' of curves. You really have to do that since surfaces like to think of themselves in terms of being a rectangular grid of patches.

I used the CoonsSurf C-hook with 3 across, 2 alongs, and everything was picked with 'single' as the chain method.

Thanks Pete, I had my brain set up upon a nice net using three sides of a corner, a pie shaped surface.

I still find myself using coons. That surface kicks arse! Then again, I'm old school.

Are you looking in "Mastercam_forum/X4_Files"? I see that you've got copies of your original MCX in both "Mastercam_forum" and in "Mastercam_forum/X4_Files",

but I put my MCX in "Mastercam_forum/X4_Files".
