WCS and Advanced Multiaxis paths?

What is the deal with the way the advanced multiaxis paths see the WCS.

I leave my parts in the position they come in at and create my WCS. But it seems the clearance moves in the linking tab refer back to the original system WCS instead of the one I am using. What is up with that? Am I missing something it the setup?

Thanks a bunch,

Kevin C.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think our reseller told us the part had to lie oriented in a certain relation to the system coordinates. At least when we do multiaxis locked into 4th axis the part had to be set to rotate around the x axis and wcs was set to top. I didn't work on this program though, so I don't know for sure.

In your post, do you have it set to this..

code:

 #Work offsets

workofs$ : -1 #Initialize work offset

force_wcs : yes$ #Force WCS output at every toolchange?

use_frst_wcs: no$ #Use only the first WCS read and ignore all others in NCI

Then I create a point for my WCS piviot point and make it associative.

Thanks for the posts guys,

I will have to check on the post setting.

I hope you are not right kunfuzed, it would seem kind of strange that you would have to translate the part before being able to use those toolpaths. That would be a large flaw IMO.

I will post back after I look at the post.

Thanks,

Kevin C.
