I don't think the problem discussed in the link that MCM put up there is really what's going on here.

You may just be running into our inability to import certain SolidWorks features (that don't have analogous features in Mastercam's solids tree) into Mastercam. When we hit one of those we have to turn the whole thing up to that point into a feature-less 'lump'.

Among the examples of features we can't handle are any domes, ribs, sweeps, and any extrude/cuts that go 'up to next'.
