upgrade to ver 9

I'm running MCAM ver 8 5.1.2 mill level 3 on a WinNT machine. I will be upgrading to ver 9 mill & solids.

 

...any advice on installation?

will my post still work?

will my configuration files be lost?

will I lose anything that I should save/bu first?

 

All answers will be appreciated

You'll have the option upon installation to migrate your config files, tool libraries, post ptocessors, etc... You can choose to accept it or reject it.

Ken, I would always do a full back-up beforehand. I only had a few glitches when we changed over to ver.9 I had one guy saving files with spaces in them and they would not come through. I will give you an example. 1234 housing.mc8 Should be 1234housing.mc8 or 1234_housing.mc8 Maybe I am the only one that had this problem???

I run into fewer problems with software in general if I do not save filenames with spaces. Even though you can, I would not reccommend it unless absolutely necessary. I use an underscore instead of space for the most part.
