Fanuc 31i/AICC

Hi there,

We're running two Toyoda FA1050S's with Fanuc 31i controls.

When running a surface toolpath (for example, a flowline spiral path, or a finish contour with helical ramping), the machine movement is very erratic and "jerky".

The AICC automatically comes on when encountering a lot of linear motion, but the manual also states that it can be switched on using G08 P1 and switched off using G08 P0.

My question is, how can I smooth up the tool motion? Is there parameters that can be set/modified? We encounter this on a regular basis, and it is causing a lot of concern,

I'd appreciate any advice.

Thanks for the prompt replies. I'm not on the West Coast, I'm on the East Coast....

....of New Zealand... LOL

We bought the machine off Realtek in Australia. Ironically, we have some Japanese engineers over mid next week, so I guess we could ask them.

We got a shop full of Fanuc Robodrills with different models of Fanuc controllers. We use G05.1Q1 to turn on our AICC and G05.1Q0 to shut it off. Seems to work well for us. Maybe this will help????
