depth cuts

I'm trying to find out were mc gets the value for the first depth cut in the rough parellel toolpath I put in a max stepdown of .02 and the first cut is cutting at -.100 then steping .02 after first depth cut I have the adjustement to top cut set to zero in cut depth window

ANother ? is there a way to get the verify to show the part as it would come off the machine when using tool plane page so when I cut a surface that is -.250 from 0 it doesnt show it cuuting the surface at zero it cuts -250 in verify when it cuts it on machine it is compesated to top offpart fine

On your rough paralell toolpath it is getting the first cut depth fron the depth cuts page, which is accesable from the last parameter page and hit the button named depth cuts. As far as your verify it sounds like changing your stock definition would get you going.

Do you have the depths cuts in incremental or absolute mode? If it is incremental it is incremental to the highest point of the surfaces you have as drive surfaces. If you have it set absolute?????

I have it on inc. if it is on absolute it starts cutting at z 0 highest point of surface is -.266 so I put tool plane zero at -.266 wich brings tht point to 0 when cutting but in verify it shows the cut at -.266 this is what I was wondering if there was a way to get it to compensate to the z zero in verify like it cuts the part on the machine
