Hi

I am new in multi surface machining.I am confuse for 3D finishing and roughing surface method in Mastercam software.

Please help me for learn what kind of surface method is good for roughing and finishing parts?

How can i select a surface strategy for parts?

it really depends on the geometry you're cutting.

 

Different paths machine different geometries better.

 

If you have a file to share, someone might be able to give you some ideas what may work better on your part,

malo: If you're starting w/ 3D surfacing HST toolpaths is a great starting point.

If you're using X4, you'll get used to the tree-style parameters with ease. The illustrators are cool, too. To some of us, it's taking a lil' longer to get adjusted, but you shouldn't have any problem. Just dive-in and try different toolpaths to get an idea of what they do.
