Martin,

You will need super-nurbs and a P200 control to get a round part at that speed. You could give it a test at a lower speed, Let us know how it go's

Below is the macro that I used,

PTC=0.1

G01 C180 X=XX1 Z=ZZ1 F=FF1

ZZ1=ZZ1-PTC

G01 C0 X=XX1-6 Z=ZZ1 F=FF1

Martin,

Super nurbs is the high speed machining function.

I would suggest changing the feedrate to ~50RPM so F=50*360 and see what you get

Also I would suggest using X shift variable VZSHX to take the depth cuts not the tool wear offset VTWOX[?] as M02 and the reset button will cancel the X shift but not the wear offset - Much safer

Let us know how it go's

i will try this week

im also thinking of using the G137 (y axis simulation) and use a milling ramp contour

my multipass will be my DOC and my ramp pitch will be me IPR

i will simply use a tunning holder like it was a C-axis m-tool

i just need to find a way to set my m-tool rpm at 0

  • 1 year later...

Resurecting an old thread here.

Has anyone here done this on a Mazak control? We have a Y-axis quickturn and an Integrex E-420 that we would like to try it out on.

Thanks

Bruce

I haven't done it, but here's a regular Integrex with a compound Y axis doing it. Should work a even better on an e420 with that orthogonal y axis.
