Hurco Gurus please help!

I'm flip-flopping a part to try to keep it flat. I'm switching from G54 to G55 and back again so I can control the overall thickness of the part. Switching from G54 to G55 and ending the progam wasn't a problem but when I added two more passes and switched from G55 to G54 I started to get this error message:

"ERROR IN BLOCK 108: POSITION OUT OF MACHINE LIMITS IN Z."

What's worse is the line identified as block 108 is:

G0G90G54X-2.3Y-.6001S1528M3

WTF? banghead.gif

I can't figure this one out. Any help would be appreciated.

Ken

I have no experience with Hurco, and I'd like to see a bit more of the program, but you might try a couple of things:

-Raise the Z up a good ways (4" maybe) between the work coordinate changes.

-You may be forced to cancel length comp and pick up again with new work coordinate.

Thanks guys. I've been talking to the apps. guys at Hurco. The first guy couldn't help me so I'm waiting on a phone call. In the meantime I'm not switching back to G54 from G55 and it's working so....

I tried starting with G55 and switching to G56 and back but got the same error.

speaking of Hurco's, and I don't really mean to jack the thread, but we've got a VM-1 here at our shop, and occasionally when you use the probe, the machine locks up when trying to change tools from the probe to anything else. It seems the only way to then get it running again is to shut the machine down manually (throw the switch) and re-start it. Yesterday, that didn't even work, and we had to try to remove the tool through the manual override buttons on the top of the machine, which then caused us to break another probe. Can't say the boss is too happy with poor programming on Hurco's part.
