  1. Did you reboot your machine after installing X8? You shouldn't have needed to, but am just wondering....
  2. Are you using a physical hasp or the Nethasp? If you're using a Nethasp your Nethasp .ini file will need to be edited to reflect the change of software versions. If you have an IT deptartment, call them.
  3. Ron, you nailed it. Thanks man. Now all I gotta do is wait 3 weeks for I.T. to respond.
  4. I followed JP's instructions to the letter but my tool library won't update. When I click the green check mark I get a progress window like something is happening but when I open my library it's unchanged. Any ideas? :Edit: From X5MU1 to X6MU1

    surfaces

I agree with Hockey Guy. If you put the surfaces on a different level or change their color, you should be able to "Select All" and then choose the color or level number. HTH Ken
  6. Machinability is 33% using 1212 as a base of 100%
  7. Actually it's worse than 304 but better than Hastelloy.
  8. Cutting granite with a butter knife is comparable.
  9. I don't think a GOTO statement will work. I'm not sure if what you want to do is possible. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
  10. It's been a while but don't you just need an M99? Or are you trying to loop back to a specific spot in the main program?
  11. I think I have the MC9 geo at home that I made years ago...
  12. This has been discussed before. This should get you close.
  13. I too have machined N60 but not 40. What kind of insert life did the lathe have? I'd look at what grade those inserts were and see if you can find something comparable for a face mill. Good luck.
  14. Hey Dan. That's pretty cool. Can it single point threads? Ken
  15. We just bought a Hwacheon HL 18"X40". It's a very nice machine. Very quiet at high RPM. It has the same casting as a Mori so it's really solid. The only thing I don't like is the On/Off control lever. It's a PIA until you get used to it. I don't know anything about Kent. Never heard of them. HTH Ken
  16. It's all on the plating shop to be sure that they don't underplate or overplate. I don't know how well the nickel will flow in that size of a hole. You might find the bigger holes will be okay and the small ones out of spec. My advise is talk to the platers and see what they think they can give you. Good luck.
  17. I just ran a 1-7/8" 12 thread in 304SS. 2165 RPM and 8.66 IPM. Tool was a Micro 100 TM 750 12X. I ran 3 roughing passes at .03" each and a finish pass at .003" with 1 spring pass. This tool will only cut 1.15" deep though. Hopefully this will get you close. Ken
  18. Mostly aluminum. Some stainless and mild steel with occasional G10 plastic thrown in. I'm machining some Torlon now.
  19. We use DI water here with our Blasocut coolant. We used to change our coolant about every 4-6 weeks. After installing the DI system we change it about every 3-4 months.
  20. Dan, We have a VM1 here and I'll say it's a decent mill for general machining. Not as tight as my older BMC though. Hurco's conversation control is pretty user friendly, but I personally only use ISNC. I guess it depends on what you want to machine with it. It's definitely a light duty machine. HTH Ken
  21. I always use wear comp. Never a problem on the Haas' I used to run.
