I have tried that, still no luck.

His machine has the hasp connected to the computer, and it's set up on his as NetHasp, local. His works. Mine (connected to the same network) is set up as NetHasp, network, and doesn't work.

The computer (mac with windows 7) I had our nethasp attached to died, and we replaced it with a new machine with Windows 10 on it. I've set up MCam on that machine the same way it was before, with X6 because that's what he likes, and now I can't find the NetHASP on my machine, on the same network. When I run NhaspX.exe, and try to read the NetHASP on the network, I get "NetHASP not found on the network". I've even gone as far as to uninstall all versions of MCam on my machine, and reinstall only X6 for now. I've tried to figure this out for a few days off and on, so if anyone could help I'd appreciate it.

so this is weird. I have X8 installed, and I can open it and it runs just fine, but it doesn't show up in the remove programs list in control panel, or in CCleaner, or in another uninstall program I just tried. How can I uninstall X8 and clear up some space on my poor hard drive?

Is there such a thing as a reverse tapered end mill, like a dovetail cutter? We need a way to put a 1 degree taper in a part, on two sides of a vertical wall, with the wider part of the wall at the top of the taper. A quick google search didn't come up with anything that's 1 degree, so I figured I'd ask here. Mounting the part multiple times isn't an option at the moment, and neither is a 4th axis.

I use a lot of Onsrud cutters on our router for plastics. Especially the 52-600 V-cut series, or their O-flute cutters for plastics. They do a good job on the HDPE I cut

That's exactly what I want, but my SpaceExplorer rotates it about the Y if I twist the knob. The old version I was on (like 3.xxx I think) had an option to change this, but I don't see it in version 10.1

a bit off topic, but in the 3dxware version 10.1, is there a way to flip the rotation axes? If I'm viewing a model from the top, I want to be able to twist the model about the Z-axis (y in solidworks) by twisting the knob. It seems as though the only option is to roll the knob left/right to twist about the vertical axis, and that really annoys me.

I'm trying to make a comparison of as many machines as possible in the same size range, and preferably in a similar price range as well, and then get quotes on them all. Part of the problem I'm having is that most of the machine tool companies websites are terrible, which makes it tougher to get the information I want.

lol. well, I'm open to other options. The Mori guy had just gotten our account, and the machine certainly sounds great for the price. I'll look at pretty much any machine in a similar price and size range if people have good opinions of the machine and availability of support.

ok, so a couple of people think they're garbage because of the brand, everyone else seems to like them. Seems like some awfully mixed opinions. For those that don't like it, what other 40x20" machines are out there that you do like for similar budgets?

I guess I'll have to make sure I ask about that option since I don't see anything about it on our quote.

So almost everyone agrees that they're decent machines for the money? They recommend a chip auger that's like $12k to separate the aluminium chips from the coolant, but with the slide out tray I don't even think we need a chip conveyor for the amount of material we actually run. It can always be added later if needed since the hookup comes standard.

99% of our work is aluminum. We're basically looking for a similar sized machine in a similar price range (around $100k)

The salesman stopped by yesterday talking up the Duravertical 5100 for us, and I'm curious if anyone has any real world opinions on them. Any drawbacks that he wasn't going to tell me/

Maintenance is minimal. Clean the lenses daily and that's pretty much it. There's a few air filters that need to be cleaned/replaced, but our lasers are in a clean-room already, so there's no dust in there for the filters to pick up

We've got 3 CO2's and a YV04. The YV04 will etch metal very well, with a very small beam diameter, and that's one of the things we use it for. However, a YV04 will not cut through a clear material of any kind (clearcoat in our case), it'll pass directly through it and burn what's underneath, which in our case results in the clearcoat being blown out of the area by the escaping gases. It's not from a company I recommend though. 2 of the CO2's can etch metals as well, and mark on or through clear materials, but with a larger beam diameter. The keyence one we have won't mark metal without something coating it, but they have models that do. The ULS ones (VLS models) will definitely etch metal. I want to say our Keyence laser was in the 50's, but it's specifically designed for intricate work, and on 3d surfaces. The ULS lasers were under 20k if I'm not mistaken, but that was over 5 years ago. It really depends on how small of a number/logo you want to mark, how fast you want it to mark, what size table you need, and what else you want to use it for. We usually find more things to use the lasers on than we ever thought they'd be useful for.
