Jig / Centerless Grinding

Not exactly a Mastercam question - but we are looking for a good reliable company to do Jig / Centerless / Throughfeed grinding. They don't necessarily have to be in the NC / SC area. We have a need for shops that can do Gear Hobbing as well... Anybody hear know of any good reliable quality conscious shops looking for work? These are engine and chassis parts for racecars, so nothing huge as far as size goes. And nothing in huge quantities, either... 50 - 100 piece orders.

These guys are local to me and do small quantity runs of gears. Shaping, Hobbing, rotary broaching, all kinds...

 

Kirk Wallace is the owner, nice guy, and does good work.

What kind of gears? Helical gears, straight involute spline, bevel gears?

Sounds like they do pretty much everything except Bevel Gears. Helical, all kinds of splines, Worm Gears (they send out the worms though). Broaching, and Lathe and Mill work.

 

So if you had some parts that required gear cutting in addition to Milled/Turned features, they could do them turn key.

I know that when I was up at The Gleason Works in Rochester, NY, a year or so back, they had a bunch of NASCAR and NHRA rings and pinions that they were machining up there. I don't don't who to contact for it, though, so I sent an email to our sales contact over there to find out.

If you want bevel gears, there is always Randy's Ring and Pinion in Everett...

Looking for mostly straight spline stuff on the gears. Gleason does some really nice work, I have used them in the past. I appreciate any help you can give!

Centerless grinding is used to grinding anything. There are many companies which manufacture grinding products but our company is one of the best in making these type of equipments. The quality of the equipments are very good and cannot be broken easily.
