Roll Around Corners--Sharp---None

Still using X2 MR2 here. I'm using cutter comp in control on some contours and I wanted to square off the corners (so the fillet comes to a point). But the corner rounding option is greyed out. But if I change it to cutter comp in the computer, the choices are active and I can change from rounding SHARP corners to rounding NONE. Then I can change back to comp in control and the choice sticks. So why was it greyed out? Did they fix that in X3+ or is it still like that?

The feature is working exactly as it supposed to. When you use compensation in computer, it gives you the option of how to deal with corners. When you choose, compensation in control, it is up to the control as to how it manipulates corners. There should be a M-code or a parameter on your control that you can change to suit your needs. Mastercam would have no idea as to how it is handled at the control and simply outputs the end points.

I see what you are saying, but I think the post I'm using outputs radii on the corners when using cutter comp and the option rounding sharp corners or all corners. The machine's control does not round the corners unless it gets a G39 which I have yet to see in the programs. I may be mistaken, I'll run a test on Monday.

I think it wouldn't round a corner, it would be square unless you change a parameter in your control or call for a specific G code to tell the control to do so. So if you wan't a sharpe edge make sure your geometry is sharp or filleted for an edge break.
