It can be removed from the visible menu. You'll need to do a couple of things;

[*]1. Open up the Mill*.txt file - the "*" being the version(s) of Mastercam you are running)

[*]2. Search for this line "menu 2 {"File:", "&Properties", "", "DOS &shell", "","

[*]Delete ALL of the following - "DOS&shell",

[*]Save and exit.

That takes care of the first part. Now go into Screen Configure and do the following

[*]Go to the "Toolbar/Keys" tab

[*]Select "Toolbar" and "Assigned", and look for Button 61 or thereabouts - the words you're looking for are "File-DOSSHELL function"

[*]Select Remove.

and That should do it. One thing to consider is that if the Mill*.cfg file gets toasted, Mastercam generates another one and you'll need to do this all over again.

Hope that helps you.

OH! One more thing, BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN EDITING THE Mill*.TXT FILE If you do the wrong thing, it could mean a reinstall of Mastercam. So, to be on the safe side, make a copy of the original file ans store it somewhere. You'll need to do this on every computer running MC.

OH! redface.gif When you delete the DOS&shell make sure you don't delete the "", if you do the rest of your menu will be out of place.
