projects for students

I am interested in finding out what types of projects that other instructors are using in MasterCam classes. We are using ver. 8.1.1 and we do machine most of our projects.

In my semester course, we have completed an injection mold and are currently slaving away on custom license plates. I am in a high school and by far, the license plate idea is the most popular. This is the first semester I have done this project but I have students coming in for extra help on their own time to design it on Mastercam and to prepare the stock. We are using aircraft tolerances ( x.xxx) on the plates also. It has been a great learning project that challenges everyone because they each have to program their own plate.
