I'm doing well.

Things are very busy here.

I just finished programming a large bulkhead.

12hrs/day 7 days a week for 7 weeks straight.

The part starts as 65 X 31 X 2.5 aluminum plate.

Cycle time is 42 hours. You can pick it up with one hand when its finished.

Lots of fun biggrin.gif

Tony,

You are making me feel old.

LVT-7 Landing Vehicle Tracked

It is an amphibious assault vehicle.

Drive it off the boat, swim to shore and

attack the beach.

10MPH in the water

45 MPH on land.

They'd go 60MPH if you tweaked the govenor biggrin.gif

They didn't have AAV-7's back then.

I think they are a wheeled recon vehicle???

The wheeled job is the LAV

The AAV is the ("new") tracked assault amphibian vehicle. If I remember correctly I think the LVT-7 was the previous version. I was just breaking balls about the twin Caddy V8s; that was the Korean War-era model I believe. If yours had a crane on it it must've been the "recovery" version.

The "newer" AAAV [advanced assault amphibian vehicle] that has been in development for about 15 years is actually due to come out relatively soon, so says my buddy who's an infantry Captain.

Happy birthday to all you former Marines out there cheers.gif
