Toolbar buttons lost bitmaps

Our IT guy just gave me a different computer and reloaded MCAM8.1, and I lost my buttons. They are there but only numbered, and the tool tip still shows up. Does anyone know how to recover these buttons along the top? Thanks

The first thing to do is go into your mcam8commonicons directory, or something like that, and see if there are bitmaps there.

delete you mill8.cfg file in your mcam8 folder then restart mastercam

Yes, there are ICON's located in this directory but they do not look familiar.

One of the very first things I would check is to make sure the IT guy didn't install the Mcam V8.1 in an actual directory NAMED "Mcam8.1". The period in the name of the directory screwed up the path names in the .txt file that told Mastercam where to find certain items, such as the icons for the toolbar. When V8.1 was first released, this was an issue we had calls on about twice a day. The solution was to re-install Mastercam in the proper directory, "Mcam81", NO period. I remember that the key indicator of this being done was just what you described happening with your icons. HTH
