Lathe Roughing

When I rough turn or bore and ask to take .1 stock per pass the nc file comes back with different numbers, not even. I've tried equal cuts and not equal cuts. If I tell it to take .1 per side, thats what I want to see. Help. [email protected]

How much difference are we talking?

I did a few tests myself and found that no matter what setting I input or changed in rough, quick rough, ( could not tell in canned rough because I do not have a lathe here to test cut), that the cut is shy .012 (rounded off) or .006 per side.

Are you using canned roughing? If not; try that and see what your output is

You should still be able to tell by the U or D value that is posted what the DOC is

 

We have had a couple of strange problems that were solved by seemingly unrelated toolpath parameters (like overlap being "checked" even if it is set to 0).

 

Don't know why; and I don't have our new seats yet so I'm afraid I can't help too much right now.
