Dynamic translate?

I have simple rectangle and spline curve.

My question is can I make a copy which the rectangle can dynamic moves along the curve and put any place that i want? I've try used Translate and Drag, but it very hard to adjust.

Any ideas will very appreciates.

I'd create points along the spline entity in order to snap to those points.

I would break the Spline into many pieces, ie Modify, Break, Many Pieces, Choose a Small value, like .001 then use the same drag method that you suggested and snap to the endpoints.

However there is no way to rotate the rectangle to follow the curvature of the spline if that's what you are trying to accomplish.

For this moment, what i did is break the spline into many pieces like Dave and Scott suggested. Create perpendicular line on the point and re-create again the rectangle if i know the position. If freeform......that is a problem.

If you have to make this for some broach type application.........

Create points along a spline.

Create line at (your)length perp.from the points

create rectangles from the--- end point--end point of each line using joint to form a complete rectangle.

If a rash develops discontinue use immediately
