  1. Hello! I installed MR2 overtop of my MR1, one installation of the mighty Mastercam. If I run the C-Hook via ALT-C I get the incompatible version error to have the C-Hook recomplied. If I launch it from the toolbar, everything is rosy & ProDrill works OK.
  2. Spindel Chiller? Are the in & out the correct way around? Is the unit functioning correctly?
  3. Welcome to the forum. Pros & cons to both. I like nesting the geometry for simple 2D parts, then just window all of the geometry and apply a contour toolpath to cut them out of a full sheet. However if I have multiple programs to be run on each part, programming the part and then nesting the toolpaths is sweet because if you have to make a change to the part after you have it programmed, the nested toolpaths update to reflect the change. HTH
  4. Bounding box will help, this will make Robk's suggestion a little easier for you. It automate's the geometry creation that he suggest's by Creating Points or Lines automatically. Then creating the arc would be pretty straight forward from there.
  5. Bullines, this seems to be going down the same road as one last week. Maybe Lanny should step up before too many people waste a whole lot oh time... ccaldwell, you may want to show some ligitimacy here on the forum by letting us know who your dealer is...otherwise, ducking apparently is the next choice.
  6. We have done the SL's with Live tooling etc. Have your reseller get in touch with Dave "post master general" Thomson and he can set you up with it. Scott
  7. If you really want to do this simple like, how about 2D swept instant toolpath? No nice Highspeed moves yet from what I hear, then some 2D contours. This particular part is a Level 1 oldschool toolpath part. Keepin' it simple...
  8. If you want the nested toolpath boundary, CIMCO's HSM is MINT, thanks Bullines for the "mint", it has the ability to do nested boundaries. Processing time is superfast as well. Scott
  9. I think that what you want to try is the WCS. Oh do you have V9? If so you can use like the top toolpalane as G54 XY wherever, then set a new WCS and use G55 XY wherever. HTH Scott
  10. Roger, using 2 boundaries would give you an error about "nested boundaries", based on the toolpath that machine is trying. Scott
  11. Create a "Flat boundary" surface in the center of the electrode, and include it in the toolpath as either a check or drive surface. Import this file into your file Bottom Core ELECT_1flat_surf.MC9 HTH Scott
  12. Quote -------------------------------------------- are true , and maintenance only include updates, no upgrades, then how do you get v10 with maint. agreement ?" -------------------------------------------- Again, vX would be an update, ie next release of the software. Included in the Maintenance. The best way to find out your position is to speak to your reseller.
  13. Update is the next or latest version of the software. Upgrade would be the next level of a product ie Mill Level 1 to Mill Level 2. The maintenance includes updates, no upgrades. Maintenance makes sense for companies large & small that want to alway's keep up to date with the latest available functionality. It also make's sense for employees as they won't have to go back to their employer when a release is available, to get money to update to it, if it ($) is not already in a budjet. The maintenance is available as well as the old update policy with some twists. Ready or not here is comes. For me, as an owner of a seat of V8 Mill, it would make sense to me to get the discounted update to V9 and get the maintenance which includes version X when it is released. The fact that there is now a yearly maintenance available will force a release of good quality functionality on a more regular basis. Would this not be worthwhile to the masses? To have more better toolpaths etc updated more often & regularly? Change is difficult, my 2 cents...
