Got wood?

It seems to me that Mastercam is getting some respect in the woodworking industry that it wasn't before.

When we first got MC v5.5 we were basically told it was the a great woodworking tool. To tell you the truth, I didn't agree with that with v6-v8. Now that some "flash in the pan" software has come and gone, I think MC is mentioned among woodworkers more and more.

I am wondering who is using MC for wood and what machine they are posting to. I am patiently waiting for Router V9 to be released (any day now??)

We have a Heian which uses a lot of macro programs I wrote, but I use MC v8 to do some odd ball stuff in solid wood and veneers. I did a search for WOOD and didn't see much useful discussion.

Anyone posting to a Weeke?

Hi ScottyB,

We are running a CMS KM-48. It is a great 5 axis machine w/ a horizontal rotary. We build lots of stair parts with it. We've been using MC since V7. I like the Router package alot. Can't wait for V9 Router to come in!

I have several clients who use MasterCAM with various Technos for working with wood. It seems to be a good combination.

Thermwood, a router manufacturing company is also a Mastercam re-seller in Indiana. A large portion of their machines are bought and used in the wood industry
