  1. progress, except that the controller ends the program after the safety program sub routine.
  2. Jeff, Someone decided to trouble shoot by hitting the old school equivelent of Format:C/ Could someone check something for me please? The problem may be in the parameter settings page I have... REVX=0 REVY=0 TVON=0 ISO=0 I/O=3 ABS=0 SEQ=0 PWE=0 REV4=0 TAPEF-0 PRGNO=0 SEQNO=0 these seem wrong for inch, absolute, DNC Thanks
  3. So...somehow, someone completely wiped out every parameter in our controller. We had to manually enter all parameters to get a pulse again. That actually worked better than expected until now. Normal procedure for getting files DNC is to turn to EDIT and hit INPUT. THen the screen flashes FSK(I think) which indicates it's ready to recieve. The problem is it doesn't flash anything, therefore it is not in ready mode. Any idea of which parameters to tweak to address DNC? Thank you.
  4. Toonz, We're a cabinet/millwork shop in DePere. I've seen some of Burger's work before and you guys have a great reputation. Nice work. We've done work for Carver and Cruisers over the years. I use MC occasionally for an old Heian, most of our work is done on a Weeke with CV, AC, and Woodwop. These guys are just lucky they don't make aircraft/shuttles/medical parts out of wood.
  5. Thanks for the ideas. Good stuff as always. I should mention that we are a cabinet/fixture/wood shop. Cleaning is the first priority, but while the machine is running the safety mat does not allow getting close to the machine. I like the trade magazine idea. This wasn't a problem until the powers-that-be went against my judgement and moved our second machine 100 yards from our main machine. I loved the 1 guy 2 machines deal. 2 for the price of 1 if you ask me. Oh well. I will be looking for more ideas before I put some guidelines in B&W. Thanks much!
  6. Hi, We are having a problem lately with machine operators pulling up a stool or playing solitare or pocket poker machines while the machine is running. We all know that keeping a close eye on the machine for 8 hours will drive you insane, but what is acceptable for the operators to pass time? Our operators are expected to check sizes, quality, quantity, etc. but what else? I need to put in writing, guidelines and expectations of operators conduct while the machine is running and I'd like some input with your policies or ideas. Thanks much!!! ScottyB
  7. WOW, very nice stuff! I feel useless...I can make a 2x4 into a 1x2. That's about it compared to this stuff. Were these done on 3 axis or 5 axis machines????????
  8. Wow, I haven't been on this forum for a while...you guys have softened up. It's been 3 minutes and no flames yet. Wait...I can see Rekd throwing his Cap'n Coke against the wall and sitting down to reply.
  9. Mercedes vs. Chevette I'd like to say we're joking...but we're not. After using MC for many years I was asked to learn Bobcad for a contract job. I just couldn't do it. It was like being required to sit through 3rd grade math when you have a college degree.
  10. I'm using HDPE for a spoil board. We sometime use UHMW, but the price has sky rocketed so I'd like to try .75" thick HDPE. I need to machine a .25"W x .15"D groove for vacuum and gasket. .25" Carbide cutter. UPshear? How can I minimize re-welding? Should I take the full .15 at a high feed? F? S? Thanks
  11. I talked to Terry years ago, but Kip this time. We are trying to expand our routing capabilities. We bar code the parts now and management wants us to run ALL the parts and edge profiles at the machine. I agree with that but using barcodes sometimes makes the operator "blind" to what is going to happen with the part and that's what scares me. I figure, with the lazer, the operator would at least be able to see if the right part is on the machine. I'm trying to explain to everyone that 99% success rate isn't good enough. That last 1% WILL kill pods, bits, spindles, or worse, if the operator is only guessing at what the machine is going to do. Thanks for the replies. Is there any other products out the that would help us??
  12. Anyone, especially wood guys, using Carter's Z-Lazer projector? Is there much to setup and calibration? The sales guy was hesitant about a demo, but that's the only way I'm gonna consider spending a chunk of change. ScottyB trying to save pods.
  13. quote: If you make her cry, I will make YOU cry. NUFF SAID!! quote: and a goose down parka zipped up to her adam's apple. I prefer my women without Adam's apple...This rule must have been made in San Fran. Parenting 101: Are you a pot head Focher??? I laugh now, but I won't be laughing in 12 years.
  14. Router v9 I have not tried the head set up...I should say I tried but was not successful...maybe I missed something. It's and ATC post...the only one I had. It seams like this should be easy...I've only worked with ATC's before.
  15. Multicam with 2 spindles. We keep a drill in spindle 2 and router bit in spindle 1. 9.6" between spindles in Y. Is it preferred to let the post compensate for this or do the offset in MC. (is it possible?) If in post...where would I find that? Thanks, ScottyB. If I had 2 hours I'd explain the situation better. This sucks
  16. You can check out ytmag.com. You might have to dig, but you can find lots of info. We have a 1/4 mile long gravel driveway. Does that count? I also have a farmall B. I can let that thing sit out in the weeds for 6 months and it will start right up in the dead of winter. I doubt my wifes new Intrepid could do that. I can also go to Fleet Farm and buy parts off the shelf for it. AMAZING. I took my son to a Steam Engine/Antique tractor show last weekend. I used to go there with my grandpa every year. I thought it would be a "bonding" day with my 5 year old....He bought a #8 Junior car!!! So much for the old tractors, but I had fun. Hopefully I can restore mine soon. I'd like to get ahold of a '50 or '60 something with 3 point. It becomes challenging to use a tractor without a 3 point. Sorry to but into the conversation...you hit a weak spot. ScottyB
  17. Hey Paul, I didn't check the board in awhile. If the city made them take the jump down it was only after a few THOUSAND people went on it. I haven't heard. CRAZY I heard there were 250,000 at the race...I can't wait to get there. Thanks, but no thanks for the jacket offer mct.
  18. Paul, Are you really a Mastercamer? When do you find time?? You always seem to be at the biggest party of the day! I've been watching Nascar for a couple years. I met Matt Kenseth a year ago. I bought my first piece of redneck paraphanalia(sp) a few months ago (#17 hat). Now I watch pretty close. I assisted on a pit crew for a friend who is on the verg of a Busch ride a couple weeks ago...and now I'm hooked! I can't wait til my first race. Maybe next season. I can imagine the party atmosphere. I get to a few games a year at Lambeau. I always tell my wife to set the VCR...I go to the game for the party, but I watch the game at home cuz I'm addicted to stats. Have a great time guys. Hopefully I'll be in the stands next year. ScottyB.
  19. Jammer, Bike night at Hooters??? Take some pics next time and don't let the bikes get in the way! Friday now, going camping!! Only 3 miles from home, but camping. That's the one drawback of living in the country...I'm already there. Note to self...add Captain to the wifes store list. Later
  20. Hey Paul, We'll be at the Nickelback concert on Wed. Are there any other bands you'd recommend on Wed? This is my first Summerfest. Everyone I know has been there before. I'm usually more intersted in the Country USA entertainment, haven't been there yet though! But I'll party to any music. I'm looking forward to it. In fact I was planning on coming to work late Thursday morning...I just changed that to all day VAC. Hoping for good weather. The 2" of rain you mentioned at Country USA kicked up a few tornados north of Oshkosh. Crazy. Later
  21. WOW! Karen has 17 posts, most of which are rude...I like it! I missed her first post...did she ask for a post processor?
  22. Delaying summer vacation til November. Then I will spend a week away from the "terrorism talk" and watch the magic of Disney Land in my kids eyes. Stress will be hoping Shamu won't splash TOO much water on us. Can't wait!!!
  23. Words can't say THANK YOU enough!! Stay safe, God Bless. (As I move my mouse across my American Flag/Eagle mouse pad.) Take Care, ScottyB and Family
