Enter a hole on center pt.

I have to machine a hole with a dovetail cutter to achieve an undercut in the diameter to be machined. I need the tool path to start on the EXACT center of the hole then arc out and cut the wall. I have tried to use "Use entry point" in the leadin/leadout dialoge, but I cannot get the tool to start on center. Any help would be appreciated.

If you can do the path as a pocket instead of a contour, you can select an ENTRY POINT. Otherwise you can use the toolpath editor to change the start point.

If you do use contour with lead in/out, choose use entry point. You may also need to include the center point in your geometry before the chain. HTH

I have some weird a** s**t going on here. Seems that when I shut down MC and reopned the file, WITHOUT regenerating, then all of the sudden the enter on point worked! This software and it's related bugs and/or graphics issues blow my friggin mind some times!

I have found that if I create a point in the center of the hole. Then pick that point as the first point of your contour chain. Then pick the contour. Use lead in /out. On the lead in/out page check the " use entry point " box on entry side. If you need to you can use " use exit point " if you need to go back to center or just arc out of the cut. Hope this helps
