  1. Thanks for the help chris. I will try that.
  2. Oh well, guess no one wants to bite.
  3. Good Morning. I am trying to get my post to recognize “Misc. Real [10]” (under Misc. Values…) As I look in the NCI file, I see that it is line “1011” that comes through with the value, when I set it in the operation. I have this set to a particular number (i.e. 25) that I would like the post to interpret as my Feed Rate, no matter what the feed rate is from the tool that I pick, for this particular operation ONLY. I know this might sound a little weird, but it is something I would like to have, for a specific type of operation that I do. Yes, I could change the feed by hand, but that involves human error multiple times. I can set up a template op once (with this value already set), then use it, and have the post do the thinking for me, and never have to think about it again. This is on a Flowline Op that is ALWAYS my last operation of a job. I want the post to recognize the feed rate from any previous ops as what is inherited from the tool, but then once it encounters Misc. Real [10] as being anything else but “0”, it would set the feedrate the this value, and post the feedrate change into my code file. As I said this is ALWAYS the last op, but nothing is ALWAYS the same, so I would like to also build the logic in to recognize that if the Misc. Real [10] gets set back “0”, then the post would return to using the tools feedrate instead of the Misc. Real [10] value. Make sense?!?!? I have VERY LITTLE experience with writing or editing posts, so treat this like I speak a different language than you, ‘cause I do. Thanks Happy Friday (Yeah, I know it’s Thursday for the rest of the world, but I have tomorrow off…..)
  4. I agree with midwest, then once you have moved them (and they are a color that never gets used for anyhting else) then blank all of that color once you get it to your destination level. Works for me. Just to review, I move all visible entities (on the level that is in question), unblank all the entities on that level, change them all to some unused color, move all of these entities to the new level, then blank all of color (color that the "unblanked" entites are). This works well for me. Good luck. Took me along time to get this one down, learning it on my own. I came from UG world and this was not an issue there. Not saying that either is better, just the reality of where I came from.
  5. Things are good Steve. Lots of programs to get out, and too little time to get them out. Oh well. As long as I am ahead of the machine, I guess I am doing OK. Hows where you is?
  6. Very nice. Thanks. And just for anyone who wants to know (just 'cause I like to feel I'm smart), the keypad I use is an X-keys Professional. It has 48 programmable keys, up to 512 keystrokes per key, and 2 levels (shift key), allowing up to 96 programmable functions. Makes quick work of alot of stuff. One example is that I have 2 keys programmed to toggle back and forth between a .002" shading tolerance and a .00005" shading tolerance. Saves me 13 keystrokes (the way i did it before) One click, and it's set. One click and it's set back. Oh well, enough of my boasting. I will get my a** back to work now, 'cause my boss reads this page also. See y'all, and thanks.
  7. Good Morning. Nice and cool here in overcast Socal. Here is my question. I use keyboard strokes alot to get to menus and to activate functions in Mastercam. I would like to know how to "check" a checkbox using keyboard strokes. The reason I want to do this is that I have a programmable keypad that work on the premise of recording keystrokes, and then plays it back. I use it to program repetative actions, and I quicken my job. So I am trying to activate a check box with a keystroke. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  8. Thanks for the help. Been a long time since I have been out here, and scripting is one of my real "wants" that I nee dto get into some day. I will tr this out. Thanks again.
  9. Good Afternoon. Is there any def file that I can access so that when I initially start a new session of Mastercam, that inside the "Bounding Box" dialogue (under Job Setup) the check marks for "Create Lines" and "Create Center Point" are turned OFF? Thanks and have a great weekend.
  10. Randle, I ahve used the converter. I works nice. The toolpath entites from Smartcam will be on levels 100 and up, and your geom will be on 1- 99, (if not the other way around). Just run the converter, and then Igesin the geometry to Mastercam. It will (should) come in on the same zero, in the same XY relationship, and a while ago I was working on a way to get the tool information somehow across to Mastercam. Nothing so far, but if you open the jof, it is a text file that could somehow be manipulated to be brought into MC. Who knows!!!
  11. Thanks so much, I will try that out ASAP
  12. Thanks everyone. What I want to do is to see if the later dated file is a renamed copy of the earllier dated file, and if there have been any modofications made. As I said, they are EXACTLY the smae sized files, so I believe there have been no mods, but i need to know for sure. Not to bring up the past (my wife tells me I am GREAT at this), but when I used to program UG, it has a nice feature called part history. It will give you a printout of everytime the file was accessed, if it was renamed form a previous file, what version it was created in, when it was brought up to the next version, who accessed it, on what day, at what time, blah, blah, blah. It helped some times, so this is where I am coming from. I am not bashing anything here, just wanting to be able to do the same thing, or similar in MC
  13. So, good morning. Is there a way to view a log file or something like that that will allow me to see the history of a specific MC9 file? I am trying to track down the differences between 2 very LARGE files that seem to be exactly the same, except for the name. I want to see if the later dated file is a copy of the earlier dated file that was renamed, and if so, who modified it and when. Thanks
  14. jbel, do a search for "MC9RS.DLL" It separates the buttons for you. Very nice. Works for me on V9.1, SP1 and SP2
