Solid toolpath error

Karl,

Analyze a solid part by selecting the Analyze-Area/Volume-Solid Props menu. Check the Solid Manager to see if there are any red "X"'s or question marks on the solid body. Was the part made in Mastercam? Is it possible to upload the file to the FTP so we can get a better idea of what is happening? HTH

Peter and Dan,

Thank you for the responces. Analyze solid did not give me any info on the integrity of the solid. Yes it was created in mastercam. The tool-paths do not seem to recognize the center curved hub and as such mill thru the part. I placed the part on the FTP site as impeller. It's in the ver 8 directory. I also created surfaces to machine with limited luck. There were gaps in the surfaces and an untrimmed surface.

Thanks again cheers.gif

Karl,

I have looked over your file and I see one thing which may be affecting the outcome with the error message. I first tried to create surfaces from the Solid and got the same message. It seems you may have a problem with the Fillet on the bottom of the vanes. I would suggest to Extrude-Add Boss to the hub instead of adding them as complete solids to the hub later. I would've tried it myself except I don't know the specifics of the vanes. You could also just create surfaces from the solid and use the surfaces as your drive geometry but that doubles the amount of geometry you really need. HTH cheers.gif
