All shading/rendering of surfaces in Mastercam is done through OpenGL. OpenGL is a graphics application programming interface (API) used for 2D and 3D geometry and graphics applications.

 

That option tells the system either to use the same mode for Wireframe, or to use Mastercam's own graphics. When you see selection points that vary slightly, I believe you are seeing a mismatch arising from a combination of the two methods on a card that is perhaps weak on OpenGL, whether hardware, or drivers.
