dxf files

I recently upgraded from V7 to V9. I now notice that when I attempt to import a DXF file that was created in another program, if there is anything at all that Mastercam does not recognize, it simply closes with out opening any graphics. In the past, I would at least get the geometry with funny looking dimension lines, etc.

Any thoughts?

One of the very best things about Ver. 9 is that you can convert from Autocad without using a DXF file. I don't know if that's an option, but if it is do a file, converters, autodesk to bypass the DXF format. Much cleaner.

When I import dxf or other files using v9 i save it as mc9 then get that file- for unknown reasons a lot of drafting entities and splines are not displayed after the conversion- the 2nd get (mc9) file is like turning on a lightswitch sometimes.

A big thanks to you for posting about the AUTODESK converter. I just got a chance to use it, and it is much easier than trying to convert to DXF files first.
