Steep Shallow logic

Does Mastercam have any way to tell a constant z toolpath to only machine near vertical walls, and machine near horizontal walls with an offset or a parrellel lace cut.

If it doesn't what method do you use? Do you pick and choose which surfaces to cut? Or do you constant z cut then cut it again with a parrallel lace cut to smooth out the near horizontals?

Okay, well in constant Z cutting Mastercam will shorten the step down in relation to a surface flattening out. You have full control of this as welll as many more methods to cut the kind of shape you're looking for. Get your rep to show you some of these, they should be happy to do it.

Take care...

O.K., If I understand correctly, a constant z toolpath can have cusp control, thus putting in more z-levels as the surface flattens out.

What I'm asking is if you can tell MC to stop cutting that surface once it flattens out to a specified angle, i.e. 60 degrees. The problem is that once that the surface flattens out to near flat, cusp height control in a level fashion is extremely ineffecient.
