Problem with Import function

I'm having a problem with Job Set-up/import in version 8.1.1 Mill.Prior to this I've used this with good effect in Mill and lathe but now i'm struggling.

I have a small file that I want to import into another file as these two parts are very similar. Part "A" is complete with Geometry,posted toolpaths, and cutting on the machine as we speak. I dont normaly save the .nci as an option in the post dialog. I didnt save this one either.

 

The geomtry of part "B" is done. I enter job setup and press the "IMPORT" button. I press "IMPORT FROM" button and browse to the correct file.

 

This is where it gets interesting. Not all the Items in that part are being listed to import. Only the Setup,tools and the first two paths are being imported.It is leaving out almost all the toolpaths. All the paths have the same /nci/path, BTW.

 

Look in this next graphic and you will see them. This is from the Opsmanager where they(the original toolpaths) were generated.

What am i missing here? besides almost all the toolpaths lol.

Select the first tool. Hold down Shift and select the last operation and then Import, Done.

Hope it helps. Although I am not so sure if it allows you to import the toolpaths from V7 to V8.

Keath are you trying to import from a V7 file to a MC8 file?

If so try opening the MC7 file in V8 then save and inport from there to see if you can see all.

 

I will try here real quick to do what you are doing.

Jay, Mariana,,

 

They are both Ver 8.1.1 files. The path that your readng (after the import button) is just our directory tree on the network. we stopped updating the path after Ver 7.x.

and Mariana , yes i can Shift click thwe paths shown but the others are missing...

In the below picture see the scroll bar at the bottom, use that to move to the other operations and select them.

 

(I think this is what you are asking, but I may be mistaken.)

Im glad that you came to work today. your a genius. I never saw that frykkin scroll bar. sob my eyes are gettin bad
