What are the tricks to get the MC verifier to run faster. I increased my stepover to .1 just so the verifier would finish in my lifetime. The surface in not huge but even at this large stepover the verifier takes over 7 minutes for 1 pocket (of 6).

I'm running MC ver 8.1.1 on a pent. 4 2.4 ghz with 512 ram and win XP.

Have you tried using Turbo (no tool). It's been optimized quite a bit in V9, you might consider an upgrade if you do a lot of that sort of thing. Not to mention the MULTITUDE of other great things they've done with V9, and (VERY SOON HOPEFULLY, hint hint) V9.1.

Thanks rekd for the quick reply. Using turbo does not allow me to zoom or remove chips so I can see inside a pocket. I was hoping for a way to speed up the tru-solid option.

karl, as rekd had stated use turbo. you made the comment you wanted to zoom. you should still be able to use turbo with true solid then after it verifies you can zoom in on an area. then in the verify tool bar at bottom of screen hit the magnify glass icon, it will then re-gen your verify up close. i use this feature daily on 100meg+ toolpaths.

oh yea,

you can also use dynamic rotation to get the angle right so as to allow you to see down into your pocket area.

Check out Metacut Utilities It'll give you a verified part in seconds instead of years. Rumor has it that the "lite" version will be bundled into MC9.1. What "lite" means, I have no idea. I'm guessing maybe just the flipout window that attatches to MC's Operation Manager? You can get a 30 trial of utilities with the link above. This is what I use for fast verification.

Zero you are right and on top of this surfaceing in 9.1 Varify is faster then in 9.0sp1 so it is faster as of now.
