Use the point method if you want it to plunge at a particular point.

 

If you want to control the direction, under the angle for the pattern, if you select 0 degrees it will start at the lowest point, working toward the right for the first move, then back and forth toward the top.

 

If you select 45 degrees, it will start at the bottom right and work toward the upper left. 180 degrees will start at the top and work toward the bottom. And so on.

 

When you select a point it will plunge at that point, then based on the angle it will move to its calculated point and work as I just stated.
