  1. That's not a bad idea. The most obvious fix to this would be to get everyone here running the same version. Easier said than done though.
  2. Tried it, but still no go. Thats what i think really happened. But the guy says otherwise. And, the file is still an X4 file. Weird. Guess i'll just start over. Thanks for all the replies guys.
  3. I looked a little further into this file this morning. The file contains no geometry, no toolpaths, and we don't use the autosave/backup function. So I guess, i'll just have to start over and do it again. I actually save a solid model of the finished lathe part as an X2 file, for the mill programmer to use as a stock model. But apparently he tried to merge the X4 file instead. I still don't see why this would happen, if all he did was try to merge geometry. Why would it affect the source file?
  4. I just noticed this today when i had to go back in a mcx file to make some changes. I programmed the lathe work on a job using X4. Then, when it went to get mill programmed, the mill programmer tried to import my X4 file into X2.(i think) Now, i have an empty X4 file. The file still has some size to it, but there is nothing there. No geometry, no toolpaths, and my machine def is now a Generic Mill. I checked our server backup first thing, and that was a no go.(very dissapointing) So, my question is, is there anyway to recover this file? or am i totally screwed?
  5. Well, he is still having the same issues with verify. I guess he gave up, and decided to just live with it. *shrugs* Let me know if you figure anything out. also, i will have to check that last post out when i get home. I just get a big banner saying "Content blocked by your organization" edit: thanks for the link JParis, that would definitely explains things. I'll put in the word and get him running a newer version.
  6. I actually posted this for another guy who does our high speed stuff. I don't think he fixed the problem, but, I'll get with him on it today and find out for sure.
  7. It's been awhile since i created a tool that way. But, that must be some sort of bug. I just tried what you were doing in X2, and it worked fine.
  8. always pay attention to the location of the red arrow of death.
  9. this is like deja-vu or something. weird.
  10. I was going to add some fuel to this fire. But, on second thought, I think I'll just keep my mouth shut this time.
  11. Are you talking about a rough or a finish toolpath?
  12. I'm not really sure on the post question. We don't have any verticals here, so I am not really familiar with them. Unless you are well versed in post editing, I would give a call to your reseller, or In House. just my 2 cents.
  13. All you have to do is put it where you want it, then close it with the green check. The next time you open it it should be there. worked for me.
  14. I will definitely look into that. Thanks.
