All,

Sometimes when i program in lathe, the rough cycle does not completlt rough the entire shaft. See attached pic. I have tried several things like re-defining stock and removing duplicate entities but still can not get it to complete the small end of the shaft. Anyone see this before?

thanks,

Greg.

Are you sure you have everything chained?

Yes, i do this day to day and for some reason I encounter this. In the past I have deleted where it stops roughing down to and re-drawn the geometry.

Seems to work, but why? The gremetry was created in MCAM, drawn from old blue print (hand drawn).

Thanks again.

Greg.

If it is chained properly, have you checked you lead in? adjust contour, extend/shorten? Was the Stock recognition (adjust Stock) changed? or is it "use stock for outer boundary"? Just a few thing to check. What version are you using? looks like V9

OK, tried several thing as suggested, but nothing worked. Deleted the operation completly and re-created operation, re-chained and it worked????

i guess this is what I'll do in the future. thanks.

Greg.
