X2 TO X5 update

My boss was thinking of updating MC from X2 to X5. Every machine we have has changes to the posts and one machine has a custom post that was built for it. I heard the logic in the posts between X2 and X5 is different in some cases so I was wondering if anyone has some insight or has ran into any problems with this? Will the update utility do a decent job converting the posts to the new format? We have MCX2 mill/lathe level 1. Thanks in advance

Negotiate your dealer upgrading the posts as a condition of the sale

You will run into spindle speed output and coolant

issue going from X2 to X5 if your posts are

mpmaster based

Always possible that something will need to be tweaked. Usually minor. Unless you did a lot of mods yourself and hard coded things in the post. If it was written conforming to proper standards, there should be no "major" problems.

I did some of the easy mods myself but we have one machine with an indraumat control that needed to be custom built. We had a guy come in to our shop and work hours and hours setting the post up for our application. This is the machine I am mainly concerned about.
