Deep hole drilling

Recommended Posts

I've seen some impressive vidieos on youtube of single peck drilling with coolant through the spindle. We have a fadal with coolant through, and drill 7/16" and 9/16" holes 6" to 12" deep in 6061 and 7075 aluminum. I would like to use the no peck and see how much we could speed up the process. Does anyone have experience with the process, if so what kind of tooling and cutting parameters are you using?

Titex makes very good CTS Drills as well. Mits and Titex are my two favorites. If I'm on a budget, CJT is not bad though you will not get nearly the variety/range of tools.

Titex's numbers in their catalogs for speeds and feeds are spot on for rigid setups.
