Hello...

I have a question with the operations group. We have saved a few of our tool paths into operation groups, but when we try to import them back into another file it changes some of our tool numbers. We are using an 8 digit tool numbering system and when we import the operation it duplicates some of the tool numbers on to the existing ones.

Thanks for any help...

James,

I have that unchecked. I have all of the others checked except for the one marked "head equals tool number" when you save the ops should they only be saved to the defaults.DF9 file or can you create other files in the OPS folder and rename them ???

You do it from within the Operations Manager. You select all the ops you want to create as a library, right click, select Save To Library. When the Operation Export Box comes up, pick the Select box and give it a new name and it will export all the selected operations.

Voila!

James,

I have done all of those steps and that part works just fine, it's when we try to import them into a new .MC9 file that everything gets messed up. All of the similar tool types change to the first tools information. They don’t retain there own information ???

Guys…Thanks for the replies.

We have that button unchecked. We use an 8 digit tool numbering system to keep our tools organized. Everything seems to save to the library just fine, it’s when we try to import form the Ops library that it changes all of the tool numbers and all of the rest of the tools info to what ever the first tool in the operation is.

In this case I have a group of form tools and boring bars that go to the same hole everytime to put in this pocket, Importing works, but all 4 of the bore bars end up with identical information. They are not like that in my library and I have even tried to create a new library and give the bore bars new tool types cause I thought that might be causing the problem ????

Any thoughts ???? I have tried everything I could think of….

Bryan,

smile.gif I got it.... Thank-You. At first I thought you were talking about the duplicate tool button on the job set-up page, then I went to run it again and realized what buttons you were referring to within the Ops library. Everything works. This will be a BIG time saver !!!

Thank-you to Everyone for your help !!!
