Multiaxis Paths

Hi all,

I have a couple of multiaxis paths (swarf does it everytime, multisurf sometimes) locked down to 4 axis, I set the 4th to rotate about Z. Every time I go into the parameters (even if i don't change anything) I need to reselect about Z for the 4th axis, it keeps getting reset to rotate about X. I can just reselect Z and all is good (sometimes the Z is still checked, but I need to click it again anyways to make it work). Also if I set it to Z then save right after, close the file and reopen then backplot, it will rotate about X.... Anyone else experience this?

I have what sounds like the same problem, I'm trying to program a haas horizontal 4axis (rotate about Y). Drill and swarf multax toolpaths look good but then after I save and re-open the file it tells me the machine def doesn't support the toolpaths and it dumps my machine and/or toolpaths. Incredibly frustrating. Why has the machine def become so invasive, let the programmer program and judge by the g-code as to whether or not you have a valid toolpath.

Couldn't tell you, but if you would like some help getting it done, give up some some more info (post, machine def, version of mcam.... the more the better).
